Even though some races might only be eight laps, it’s still wise to have a strategy in place so that you can make the best decisions at different stages in the race. As we see in different motor racing categories, the best drivers seem to make calculated decisions at the right times which place them in a better position to win races.
Firstly you want to know who you are up against & what characteristics they have; are they quick in the opening laps? Do they tend to crash a lot? Are they nervous to pass? Once you have an idea of the strengths of the drivers around you, you can then map out what your strengths and weaknesses are to try get yourself into those positions more often than not.
