How to improve your driving this off-season

With only a few days left before Xmas, we wanted to give you some ideas on how you can stay sharp this off-season so when 2023 comes around (holy crap, that's next week!), you're ready to go!

Tip #1: Reflect on 2022

It's always a good idea to write down both the positives and negatives of this racing season so you can work out what you did well (keep doing more of this) and what you could have improved on (this is what testing is for).

Tip #2: Refresh your equipment

The end of a racing season gives you the time to freshen your equipment (engine rebuild, clean bearings, potentially sell the second-hand kart) and look to start new in 2023. There's been countless times when cleaning the karts we've found little cracks in the chassis, a bent kingpin from a previous incident or simply just replacing the fuel filter and fuel line.

Tip #3: Practice

When others are on holidays sipping Pina Colada's or kids are sucking down Whizz FIzz, this is a good opportunity to get a head start on your competition. How many times have we seen kids we were beating easily all the sudden move up the ranks? This is likely because the chasers are the one's putting in the extra effort to make up ground.

Tip #4: Improve your fitness

The festive season is also a time where people like to lay low and not exert too much energy. So, this could be a good time to put in the extra effort to be in the best shape you can be before the racing season kicks off! Whether it's just a run, or it's playing more sport to stay active, try be in a better frame of mind and health before your first race.
