How To Overcome Fear

Fear is one of the biggest limitations that racing drivers need to overcome. It can be a difficult task, especially if you’re new to racing.

BUT LUCKILY, IT’S NOT IMPOSSIBLE!

There are so many drivers who face fear when they must go and race. Even though you love the sport and want to be successful in it, you might still fear your kart, and that’s okay. However, you must learn to overcome fear if you want to be a racing driver.

All the racing drivers that you see at the top level of motorsport such as Formula 1 and IndyCar have overcome their fears. That’s the reason why they have made it so far in motorsport and they have become so fast.

It’s easier said than done of course, but you can also learn to overcome your fears. It’s important that you do because fear is what holds you back and stops you from going as fast as you possibly can to win that race.

The first step to overcoming fear is to identify what you are afraid of. Whether it’s the speed that scares you, crashing, or getting hurt. It doesn’t matter what the fear is or how insignificant and embarrassing you might think it is.

Properly identifying your fear is the first step and half the battle. Now that you know exactly what you’re afraid of you can start to plan on how to overcome it. This usually involves one of several different elements.

The method you use to overcome your fear will be determined by what your fear is. For example, if you’re afraid of the speed of your kart, practice is the best answer. You’ll start by slowly building up your speed and gradually going faster and faster.

Visualization techniques can help drivers who are afraid of overtaking. If you’re not good at visualization you can use simulators or even video games to help you become more confident in overtaking. You could also ask someone else to get on track with you to help you with some overtaking.

Practice is one of the best ways to overcome your fears. Being in the kart will help you to get more comfortable with it and it will give you a lot more confidence while you’re driving. The more you drive it the more confident you will become, and this will begin to take your fear away.

Remember, the more experience you get the less fear you will have. The key is to keep on practicing and believing in yourself, and eventually you will get there!
