We’re here at Todd Road in Port Melbourne, Victoria, one of the most picturesque circuits in world karting. I’m aiming to show you guys the fastest way to drive on this racetrack, to give you the inside knowledge you need to win races! The keys to this racetrack are getting turn two and three dogleg section right, the double right-hander, and the two braking zones down at turn one and dunny corner. As we start our lap at Todd Road, the Go Kart Club of Victoria, drivers want to focus themselves for the turn one braking zone. In our cadet classes, the braking zone is going to start at the edge of the tram tracks. A light brake is required, and you want to hear the brakes just starting to lock before releasing that brake and then rolling towards the apex.
